This week we are focusing on nocturnal animals and developing our understanding of night and day.  We are learning new sounds z qu ch and using these to read and write words.  In our maths we are focusing on the number 5, learning a new number rhyme and counting objects.  We also have our Night time Day!  In our learning walk this week we have been thinking of what to do to help Baby Bear - lots of these involved using the trike track!

Please see the home link document above and if you require any further information, please email Mrs Stevens on pineclass@manea.cambs.sch.uk.

Look at some of our fabulous work this week.  We even became artists like Van Gogh and made our own 'starry night' pictures!

Night Time Day

Our Friday was absolutely wonderful!  We had to come to school in our pjamas!  We had lots of different activities to do to investigate night time.  We read the story 'How to catch a star' then made our own night time cookies.  We then read all about a nocturnal animal in 'Owl Babies' and then went on a nocturnal animal hunt.  During this we found lots of clues to show that nocturnal animals come into our environment.... we saw scratches on trees that may be bats or badgers having a scratch!  We saw holes that moles and badgers or foxes may have dug.  We saw piles of leaves that were for the hedgehogs and also a hole where a badger would come through!   We also enjoyed night time yoga, read 'the way back home' and created rockets!  We even made some fabulous lanterns to help us get through the night......... THEN....... we had hot chocolate and our cookies!
