This week our learning walk has been to extend our thinking about the characters that Zog meets on their travels.  We have discussed the different elements of the story and have come up with some fabulous ideas.  See the learning walk record above and photographs below with more information!

In other learning we have been writing our diaries, using a keyword bank to help us, and solved lots of phonic challenges using digraphs and trigraphs.  In maths we have been focusing on more or fewer - solving a counting problem and also made  a pizza with fewer than 5 toppings!  We are also developing our understanding of materials and finding the best material to make a raincoat for the flying doctors.  We have also been creating drawbridges for Princess Pearl's castle.  Please see the home link document above with ways to consolidate learning at home and if you require any further information, please email pineclass@manea.cambs.sch.uk.

Princess Peal asked for our help... Her new castle had a moat around it and she couldn't get to the door.... Could we help her find out and create a drawbridge?

We looked at the Tower of London's drawbridge and decided to create our own to help her in our block area.  Look at the photos below:

We had another challenge from the flying doctors..... they needed a raincoat to use when they were travelling to save different characters.  They sent us some different materials to investigate and choose what would be best for them to use....  After lots of discussions we chose:  the black plastic bag 'because it did not rip and the water came off it' and the clear plastic bag 'because the inside did not get wet!'

We then had an amazing adventure in our forest school!
