A very exciting week started with 'Magic Day' and ended with a birthday celebration for Baby Bear! We have worked hard all week creating wonderful things for Room on a Broom, Goldilocks and the three bears - we have used our knowledge of characters in our learning talks and then applied our activities to these. We have continued with our phonic focus, learning new sounds and then using these in reading and writing. In maths we have explored patterns as well as continuing with our counting focus. We have also explored changing materials when we created some delicious birthday cakes for baby bear! What a busy week. Please see the home link document above to consolidate learning at home and if you require further information, please email pineclass@manea.cambs.sch.uk.

Magic Day in Pine Class
We were sent a story of 'Room on the Broom' from baby bear and we have used this as a basis for some of our activities. We have retold the story, created new brooms and also made our very own wands. In our continuous provision we have had lots of other challenges to complete. See the photos below for some of our adventures!
Look at our group retelling of 'Room on a Broom'
We worked in our groups in the big block area to create a new broom for the witch... They were amazing!
In other learning we have been continuing with our Baby Bear focus - it is his birthday this week so we had to be VERY busy! - some of these ideas are:
a potion to create presents, a playhouse with a slide, some flowers and even a birthday cake.
Look at the photos below.....
Baby Bear's Birthday
We have been set a challenge for Baby Bear..... mummy bear has found some cupcakes that she thinks he will like for his birthday.... could we make them and then taste them to see if we like them! It was great fun. We had to mix up the ingredients and then they had to be cooked. We then iced them ........... THEY WERE DELICIOUS! Mrs Stevens is going to let mummy bear know so that Baby Bear can have them too!
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
