This week in Pine Class we have had some tricky challenges from Zog! He has sent us some objects to write about and also some tricky counting challenges. In our learning walk we have discussed the areas outside and how they can be used to support Zog and the flying doctors learn things that can help them in their work. We have also been sent a material challenge. When it rains, the flying doctors have asked to have a raincoat! But they do not know what material would be best to use....... we had to find out! Look at our learning below.
Please see the home link document above to support and consolidate learning at home. If you require any further information, please email Mrs Stevens on pineclass@manea.cambs.sch.uk.
Our learning walk - discussing and coming up with ideas to help....
Zog's Challenge - Can we help him make a raincoat for when they are travelling around helping characters? Can we investigate the BEST material to use?
We explored lots of material and found that the flowery one was waterproof but paper would make a hard coat, the white and the bin bag were the best but the brown hessian material let water through the holes! The cotton wool soaked it all up and the paper was not strong enough! We have told Zog what we have found out so that they can make some super raincoats!
Princess Pearl's Challenge......
Her uncle, the King, needs some help. His drawbridge is not working - can we help to investigate how to fix it? We then used our forest school session to create a castle and investigate creating a working drawbridge. Look at some of our amazing work:
