Percy the Park Keeper - One Snowy Night (1996)

Percy the Park Keeper is very kindhearted towards all of the animals who live in His park and always makes sure to feed them every day. But on one cold evening, it starts to snow very heavily throughout the park and now, all of the animals can't find anywhere warm to sleep.

This week we are exploring 'One Snowy Night'.  The animals all came to Percy's shed and had to fit in to sleep!  We have been listening hard to the sequence and have been ordering pictures to show where they came in the story.  We have then been discussing and recording our favourite character so far!  We have been writing our diaries and also taking part in very tricky sentence reading!  In maths we have been working on ordering numbers and counting carefully to solve problems.  We are also exploring some of Percy's toys from when he was little.  We are then making our very own 'toy from the past'.  In our learning walk we focused on what we could do to help Percy throughout our outside activities..... see below for our wonderful ideas.

Our Forest School session

We have really enjoyed exploring our own forest school area this week.  We have seen lots of evidence of when Percy and his friends may have been there:

a feather that may have been from owl

a footprint from rabbit

a claw mark from squirrel

a hole in the fence made by badger

a fox den

duck feathers

and even a duck footprint!

We loved every minute!
