This week is all about Fairy Tales.  We are working hard on recognising the different characters and retelling the stories.  We are focussing on 3 little pigs and using this in our forest school work to create dens.  In our literacy we are developing our awareness of digraphs, ch, sh, th, ng and nk.  We are then creating words using these.  In maths we are continuing with counting, working very hard and making sure that we check!

In our learning walk we used a new text called 'Once Upon a Time'.  It had lots of information about fairy tales so we decided together what characters we would help and why.  Mrs Goude was very proud of our discussions and ideas..... look at some of them below.

Please see the above home link document with ways that you can support and consolidate learning at home.  If you have any questions, please email pineclass@manea.cambs.sch.uk

We have been creating homes for the 3 little pigs.  We have used our drawing club session to learn some focus words..... construct... sturdy.... flimsy... and CELEBRATE and then drew our own houses for the pigs.

After discussing what the pigs would need in their homes we then used the block area to develop our ideas even further.  We used the new words sturdy and flimsy and even said that it was sturdy as the wind did not blow it down so the wolf would definitely not be able to!

We then used our forest school session to develop even further..... WE MADE DENS!  We found out lots of new skills and ensured that the construction was sturdy enough to take care of the pigs!
