Summer 2

Week 6 7.7.2025

It’s been a busy and exciting week here at school!

Our Year 6 pupils have been out and about, taking part in their secondary school transition days. This is a big milestone, and we’re so proud of how confidently they embraced this next step in their journey. They came back full of stories and excitement about what lies ahead!

Meanwhile, both Year 5 and Year 6 enjoyed a fantastic trip to Hamerton Zoo. The sun was shining, and the children had a brilliant time exploring, learning about the animals and spending the day together outside the classroom. A big thank you to the staff and helpers who made the trip possible.

Well done to all for a great week!

Week 5 30.6.2025

Year 5 and 6 have had an exciting and action-packed week! In class, we’ve been learning about classification keys – and what better way to explore this than by sorting Liquorice Allsorts! Pupils worked in teams to group and identify the sweets based on their features such as colour, shape and texture. It was a fun way to bring science to life.

To top it off, Year 6 also enjoyed a fantastic trip to Play 2 Day. The day was filled with laughter, energy and teamwork as the children climbed, crawled and slid their way through the soft play area. Later, they put their skills to the test in an exhilarating game of laser tag – a firm favourite with everyone!

It’s been a week full of learning, fun and great memories.

Week 4 23.6.2025

Our Year 6 pupils had a fantastic time on their recent trip to the local fire station. The visit was packed with exciting and important learning opportunities. The children took part in interactive sessions on dog safety, fire safety, and water safety, gaining valuable knowledge in a fun and engaging way. A big thank you to the firefighters who made the experience so memorable!

In addition, Years 5 and 6 came together for an action-packed Sports Day filled with energy, teamwork and plenty of cheering! From sprint races to relays and field events, every student gave their best effort and supported their peers. It was a wonderful celebration of sport, determination, and school spirit.

Well done to all involved – we’re so proud of you!

Week 3 16.6.2025

It’s been a fantastic and active week for our Year 5 and 6 pupils! Some of our students took part in a Cricket Festival, showcasing their teamwork, skills, and sportsmanship. Meanwhile, others represented the school in a Netball Festival, putting in brilliant performances and demonstrating great enthusiasm on the court.

It’s been a busy sporting week, and we’re incredibly proud of all the children who took part. Well done to everyone involved!

Week 1 2.6.2025

We have had a busy first week back after half term. We have continued preparing for the enterprise fair next week- and have made lots of lovely bracelets and stress balls to sell.

In Pshe, we learnt all about how to call for help in an emergency, and used drama to explore make a 999 call.

In Art, we researched the artist Yika Ilori.

We also visited the life bus, and discussed healthy life choices.
