This week we have been finding out about dinosaurs. In our literacy we are writing sentences about a big green dinosaur from our story. We are investigating doubles with the dinosaur twins and solving lots of doubling challenges. We are exploring the different dinosaurs and also learning about herbivore and carnivores. We will also be making sandwiches to taste test whether we think the dinosaurs would like them!
Our learning walk is to continue with the work on Poppledown Town, turning our outdoor area into further adventures and we are then using our den making knowledge to create dens for the dinosaurs that we are exploring. You can see how we got on in the photographs below. Creating dens for the dinosaurs
In our den making work this week we had to make some homes for the dinosaurs. We discussed what we would need to do and decided that they would have to be very big! Look at how we worked together below.
Creating sandwiches
We have been exploring dinosaurs and investigating the terms carnivore and herbivore. We decided to do a taste test. We made two sandwiches each, one with ham for the carnivore and one with lettuce and tomato for the herbivore. We had to spread the butter and cut the bread so needed to be very safe. We then taste tested them to see what we liked best!
We then finalised our test by recording our findings.....
We even had time for some challenges! What a busy week!
