🏅 We’re Gold! School Celebrates School Games Mark Award 🎉
We are absolutely delighted to share some exciting news with you – our school has been awarded the Gold School Games Mark for our outstanding commitment to sport and physical education!
This is a fantastic achievement that recognises the hard work and dedication of our pupils, staff, and wider school community in promoting healthy, active lifestyles through sport and physical activity. Throughout the year, our children have taken part in a wide variety of sporting opportunities, competitions, and inclusive events – all of which have contributed to this incredible success.
The Gold Award is a national recognition, and we are incredibly proud to have reached this level. It reflects not only the talent and enthusiasm of our students but also the encouragement and support you, as parents and carers, provide every day.
👏 A huge well done to everyone involved – especially our PE team, sports leaders, and all the children who have given their best effort and shown true sportsmanship throughout the year.
Thank you for being part of this journey with us. We look forward to continuing to inspire a love for sport and physical activity in every pupil.
Key stage 2 Sports day - Thursday 26th June 2025
Key Stage 2 had a fantastic Sports Day filled with energy, teamwork, and enthusiasm. The children took part in a carousel of exciting sporting activities, showing great determination and sportsmanship throughout. The event ended with some thrilling track races that had everyone cheering. Congratulations to the Green Team for winning in Years 3 and 4, and to the Red Team for coming out on top in Years 5 and 6. A huge well done to all the children for taking part and giving their best effort!
Year 5 & 6 Kwik cricket festival - Wednesday 18th June 2025
Well done to 8 Year 5 & 6 children who attended a Kwik cricket festival at March Cricket Club. The children show excellent attitude and determination throughout the day. The children have been working so hard in recent weeks to improve their skills and to ensure they are familiar with the rules of cricket. The children finished a very respectful 4th out of 10 schools and should be very proud of their efforts.
Year 6 Football Victory! ⚽️🎉 - Thursday 16th May 2025.
A huge well done to the Year 6 football team who secured an impressive 11–4 win against Alderman Jacobs School! The team played brilliantly, showing great teamwork, determination, and sportsmanship throughout the match. Special mention goes to Jake and Rowan, who both played their first ever matches for the school – fantastic effort from both! We’re proud of everyone involved. Keep it up, team!
Football Factory Football Fun - Friday 28th March 2025
Today, we had the pleasure of welcoming coaches from Football Fun Factory to our school. Every class had the opportunity to participate in an engaging and enjoyable football session.
As part of #LetGirlsPlay Day, a national campaign dedicated to breaking down barriers for girls in football, the coaches structured sessions to provide equal opportunities for both boys and girls. The enthusiasm from our pupils was fantastic, with many already asking when we can invite the coaches back!
Well done to all the children for demonstrating such a positive attitude throughout the sessions.
Year 4 Netball festival - Wednesday 5th March, 2025.
8 Year 4 children attended a netball festival at Vista Academy, Littleport. The children took part in a number of fun themed netball activities and a festival of matches. The children blew Mr Lenton-Boon away with their passion, teamwork and skill level, to win all their festival matches. The lady who was running the competition said "There are certainly some up and coming netball stars here" Well done to all the children that took part.
Year 3 & 4 football match v Cromwell Primary - Thursday 13th February 2025.
On Thursday, 13th February, the Year 3 and 4 football team welcomed Cromwell Primary for a friendly match on our school pitch.
The game was played in great spirits, with pupils from both schools thoroughly enjoying the afternoon. In a closely contested match, Manea emerged victorious with a 4-3 win. The team is already looking forward to their next fixture!
Year 3 & 4 Panathlon sports event - Friday 7th February 2025
8 children were chosen to take part in a Panathlon event at Soham College. The children took part in a carousel of sporting activities that included: Boccia, table cricket, basketball, bean bag throwing, skittles and curling. The children loved the morning and were even more delighted when they all won a medal and certificate to take home with them. The children represented the school brilliantly and we can't wait to be involved in more events in the future. Please check out the pictures below from the event.
Year 5 & 6 Football festival - Friday 31st January 2025.
Manea win the cup!
A team of nine Year 5 and Year 6 students represented Manea Primary at a football festival hosted by Westwood Primary in March. Competing in a round-robin format against six other schools, the team demonstrated exceptional teamwork, determination, and sportsmanship—ultimately securing victory!
Every player contributed to the team's success, showcasing the key attributes of a strong and cohesive squad. A special commendation goes to Elliot, who delivered an outstanding performance by scoring eight goals throughout the afternoon.
We are incredibly proud of the team's achievement and look forward to our next festival in the month of March.
