This week, our Year 3/4 pupils have been busy getting creative in Design and Technology, where they have been designing and making their very own night lights.
The project began with exploring different types of lights and discussing how they are used. Pupils then moved on to designing their own night lights, carefully thinking about who they were for and what features they would include. They showed great imagination, producing a range of unique and colourful designs.
Using a variety of materials and tools, the children developed their practical skills as they built their night lights. They learned how to safely assemble simple electrical circuits, bringing their creations to life. It was fantastic to see their confidence grow as they problem-solved and supported one another throughout the process.
We are incredibly proud of their hard work, creativity, and perseverance. The finished night lights look amazing and will brighten up many bedrooms!
Well done, Year 3/4!
What another busy week for Year 3 and 4 children!
In English, we have continued our learning, where we have been working on using speech for conversations between characters. We have been working hard in pairs, to come up with ideas for what characters in our Egyptian Cinderella story might say, how they might say it (speech verbs) and then including the key punctuation (inverted commas "").
In Science and DT, we have been learning about electricity and creating our own electrical circuits. We have explored the equipment needed to make an electrical circuit work and what happens when a circuit breaks. This led onto our DT topic, where we created our own switches, which will be used when we design our own nightlights.
Red Nose day was on Friday, which involved both classes completing some very exciting challenges!
Year 3 and Year 4 have been enjoying a wonderful musical experience recently as they have been learning to play the harps. The children were very excited to try such a unique instrument and quickly discovered how beautiful the harp can sound.
During the sessions, pupils explored how the harp works and learned how to pluck the strings to create different notes and simple melodies. They listened carefully, practised their technique and showed great enthusiasm throughout the lessons.
Well done to all of Year 3 and Year 4 for their excellent effort and positive attitude. We are very proud of their musical achievements! 🎶
Book week:
What an amazing week we have had this week, celebrating book week. On Wednesday, we really enjoyed reading to some of the younger children- year three went to read with reception, and year four went to Pre-school.

On Thursday, we came to school in some fabulous book themed costumes.
Throughout this week, both classes have been completing work based around two of the 'Little People, big dreams' books. Ash class focussed on Bruce Lee, whilst Willow class looked at Andy Warhol. We created work to decorate our classroom doors.

As Ash class were focussing on Bruce Lee, all of year three and four took part in a martial arts workshop.
