This week is very busy in Pine Class. We have been set a challenge from Percy for our learning walk - to help him water the plants in the park! We are writing our diaries and also going on a treasure hunt to write about what we see. In maths we are focusing on the skill of sharing - making sure that we enable everyone to have equal amounts. We are also continuing with our balance bike skills and investigating new tricky challenges! We have also been sent some jelly for an end of term celebration. We have to make it and also discuss what changes we notice.
Please use the home link document above to consolidate learning at home. If you have any questions, please email Mrs Stevens on pineclass@manea.cambs.sch.uk.
Our learning walk discussions
We watched the story called 'The Ant Parable' and then found out how to draw an ant. After this we discussed the story and said how the ant was sad at the end. We decided to write a short sentence 'The ant is sad'. We talked about finger spaces, capital letters and how to form our letters correctly. Look at our fantastic work:
Percy was so impressed with all the work that we have been doing to help him, that he sent us a present.... some jelly! We then decided to make it. We had to cut it into small chunks - the smaller the better as it would dissolve more! We then added hot water and stirred it. The water was so hot that it steamed. The water then changed colour! We then added some cold water and poured it into smaller cups. These were then put in the fridge to set. Miss Froggatt said that once it was wibbly wobbly we would be able to eat it! We waited until the end of the day and it was DELICIOUS!
