This week we are developing our phonic knowledge through our first sounds. As well as the information on the home link document, a useful link to support parents understanding in the pronunciation of sounds is below. We will have lots of challenges to complete! In our maths work we are continuing with our pattern work and looking at how patterns can be repeated.
We will also be exploring different rhymes so that we can let Baby Bear know our favourites! We are also focusing on making rockets in different ways. Another investigation is all about texture, we will be exploring lots of different objects and describing them with our friends.
Please use the home link document above to support discussions and consolidation of learning at home, if you have any questions, or would like more information, please email Mrs Stevens on pineclass@manea.cambs.sch.uk.
Being a SAFETY SPY
To help us keep ourselves safe and be independent, we have started our roles as class helpers. Each day three helpers are chosen from the basket and they have to then take the 'safety spy' check. This is to ensure that our learning environment is safe and ready to be used. The class helpers take the checklist and go outside. Once they have completed the check, they return to the class and let them know what they have found out. Are there any things that we need to be aware of? Anything that they have noticed? Once they say 'It is safe to go outside' then our learning outside can begin!

One of our favourite songs this week has been about some red apples - Enjoy!
ROCKETS
Our first rockets were made through following instructions! We had to mark make (holding the pen correctly) on the roll and then choose our favourite colours to be the tail. We could then ZOOM them home!
We then used the carpet shapes to create group rockets. We had to listen to each other and work together!
TEXTURE
Baby Bear found lots of objects during his walk around the woods. He then set us a texture challenge to investigate and discuss what each object felt like. We then had to choose a card with a 'texture' word - prickly, smooth, hard or soft. Our extra challenge is to then find an object that matched the card we chose. Ask us what we found out!
