This week is very exciting - we are getting ready for Baby Bear's birthday!

In our literacy focus work we have continued with learning some new sounds as well as recorded our ideas for presents for Baby Bear!  We have been discussing our own favourite toys and what we think Baby Bear would like.

In maths we have been working very hard with our counting skills and finding out about a new skill called subitising (see the home link document for more information).

In other learning we have been creating birthday cards and developing our scissor control.  We have also been retelling one of Baby Bear's favourite stories 'Going on a Bear Hunt' and also enjoyed a yoga session related to this.

Please use the home link document above for more information and if you have any questions or would like more details, please email Mrs Stevens on pineclass@manea.cambs.sch.uk

After discussing why we celebrate birthdays, we were sent a treat from Baby Bear.  He had seen how much we enjoyed Boogie Bounce on Friday so he send us a game!  We had to follow the obstacle course, balancing on the tyres and across the stepping stones.  It was tricky at first but we did persevere!

Songs we have enjoyed this week:

A challenge from baby bear.....

When he was travelling to the moon he came across lots of different planets.  Each planet has a number on it for the amount of objects they need to have..... Our challenge was to read the numbers and then put the correct number of objects on each one!  We even had a timer to challenge us more!

Look at our fantastic birthday cards for baby bear.  As he is 5 we decided to make a 5 card.  We carefully cut around the number 5 and then stuck 5 stars on it.  We are extremely proud of our cutting skills.

Look at our work from our challenges this week.  We did think very hard about what baby bear would like for his birthday and have used this as a focus
