Year 1
In Writing, we have started the final planning stages of our recount letter from the Gingerbread Man to the old lady. We have been recounting the events of the animals he encountered on his adventure after leaving the old lady's house. We have had great fun revisiting our story, joining in with the repeated phrases and retelling the events. We then worked hard to put the animals the Gingerbread Man met into chronological order and describe them for the old lady. We are looking forward to writing our letters next week.
In Maths, we have worked hard on a range of activities linked to money and place value, developing our understanding and confidence in these important areas.
We have also spent time practising for our end-of-year play and are very excited for you to see our performance next week!
It has been a busy week, but an amazing one, especially with sports day at the start of the week!
Year 2
We concluded our setting description work this week by planning, writing, editing and publishing our work.
This week in maths we have been busy completing assessments. We have been using everything that we have learnt over the year to answer a range of questions. We also started our unit on geometry; position and direction and began thinking about positional language.
This week in science, we thought about everything that we have learnt about living things and their habitats. We recapped micro-habitats as well as larger habitats, thought about what could be found there and food chains that may exist there. Have a look at the photos to see some of the posters we have made.
We started our computing unit this week; we practised logging in and using a paint programme to create pictures, lines and shapes.
