Year 1

What a fantastic final week we have had in Year 1!

In English, we finished writing our repetitive stories based on Jack and the Beanstalk. We took great care when publishing our stories onto special published paper and were very proud of our finished work. We used some wonderful adjectives to describe the giant and worked hard to make our writing the best it could be.

In Maths, we consolidated all the skills we have learned throughout the year by completing a variety of fun and engaging activities. It was a great opportunity to reflect on how much progress we have made since September.

On Wednesday, we enjoyed our exciting school trip to South Angle Farm. Our first activity was an animal petting experience, where many of us stepped outside our comfort zones and showed great bravery. We had the chance to touch a range of animals, including snakes, rabbits, guinea pigs and bearded dragons. Afterwards, we explored the farm and fed some of the animals, including sheep and goats. It certainly tickled when they ate the food from our hands! We then enjoyed a well-deserved lunch before spending some time playing in the farm’s play area.

Well done, Year 1! You have had a busy, productive and successful year, and you should all be very proud of yourselves. I will miss you all next year. Good luck as you move into Year 2, and have a wonderful summer holiday!
