Today we were lucky enough to have a visit from Sigma Vets. We had an assembly all about keeping pets, finding the perfect pet and the things that they need.
We found out that Sigma Vets regularly look after dogs, cats, rabbits and other small animals and this week had to trim the nails of a tortoise!
It has been a very busy week in Year R. We have been finding out how Percy and the animals look after each other. We have enjoyed stories about Owl and created our own Owl pictures. In one story, Percy was poorly so we have also been thinking about how to keep Percy healthy and have made our very own obstacle courses! It is keep fit time! Have a look at our webpage to find out even more!
This week, children in Years 5 and 6 have been developing their narrative writing skills through the powerful animation Broken: Rock, Paper, Scissors. The short film inspired the children to think carefully about character emotions, suspense and descriptive language as they created their own imaginative retellings and extended narratives.
Throughout the week, pupils explored how the characters changed during the story and used this to influence their own writing. They focused on using ambitious vocabulary, varied sentence structures and figurative language to engage the reader and build atmosphere.
The finished pieces have been fantastic to read and we are incredibly proud of the effort and enthusiasm shown by all of the children.
Our recent athlete event with Alice was a huge success, raising an incredible £2,916! The children showed outstanding enthusiasm, determination, and teamwork throughout, making us all incredibly proud. Thanks to their amazing efforts, we are now able to invest in new, much-needed sports equipment to enrich play and physical activity during social times. A brilliant achievement by everyone involved!
