What a jam packed day we have had! We have done a number of activities including climbing a giant seesaw in the high Equilibrium challenge. We've also hunted for minibeasts, problem solved and completed rock climbing. Now off to battle in the olympics- before showers and beds (the children are almost as tired as the staff!).
We'll let you know when we leave tomorrow.
12.10.23 - AM
All of the children had a good night's sleep!
They've enjoyed a lovely breakfast and have been completing their first activity this morning.
It has stopped raining and the sun is out and everyone is looking forward to the climbing activities later on today!
11.10.23 - 8PM -
Everyone on the residential is having a lovely time! Some have been climbing, others have been problem solving. ALL have had delicious burgers for tea. They are currently sitting around a campfire. Fingers crossed for a good nights sleep!
11.10.23 - Our Year 5 and 6 children have arrived safely at Kingswood. They are all unpacked and having a tour and are ready for their first activity!
Reception have been working very hard this half term on all things bear related! They have investigated baby bear's socks, their toolbox and sewing basket as well as matching the shoes that Goldilocks had left behind. As well as exploring the different language that we can use to match and sort, we have been exploring our environment and relating our busy learning to 'how to help the bears!' You will see us making a new home for the bears and also some delicious forest school porridge! Have a look at our page to find out even more

In July, all of the teachers had some fantastic training on punctuation and grammar, with Mitch from Grammarsaurus.
This week, it's been the children's turn to become experts too. Within Literacy lessons across the school, you could hear lots of talk about subjects, nouns, full stops and capital letters. Take a look at the year 5/6 class page to see how they have been tackling their grammar work.
This week, Year 1 and 2 children have been exploring the Julia Donaldson book, Tiddler. We have had so much fun creating underwater scenes in our Block and Lego areas and have even made sea creatures using natural objects in the outside area.
Have a look on our class pages to see some of our wonderful creations!
Year three and four have really been enjoying learning all about the Stone age. This week they have explored how things have changed as we move into the Bronze age. Check out our class page below!

A BIG thank you to MJS construction ...
During the Summer term of 2023, the EYFS team decided to create a new outdoor area. This would be to develop PSE, physical development, communication, language and literacy, maths, understanding of the world and imaginative play. The children already used a small stone area to develop these areas but a larger area became available which would develop and extend thinking. A request was put on social media and we were very lucky that MJS construction agreed to support us.
MJS agreed to donate a large amount of pebbles that would fill the new area, enabling a construction approach to be used. During this time they also offered to support us further by donating more equipment. Mr Robinson then set to work, creating the area and filling it with the donated stones. A further delivery then came from MJS construction........ it was very exciting! They had sourced some hard hats, safety googles, ear defenders, construction vests and........two sit on diggers!
We are so lucky that our community comes to the rescue when funds are low and want to send our thanks to all concerned.
Today we were visited by the team at Cross-curricular orienteering. They have worked with the children to introduce the new orienteering course that has been set up around our grounds.
The children enjoyed the day very much!
After school, the teachers were trained by the team on how to use this course across the curriculum.
Please see all the new added calendar dates (times to be confirmed)
Dear Parents and Carers,

We would like to thank you for your support and understanding with the disruption today
