  This week, Year 1 and 2 children have been exploring the Julia Donaldson book, Tiddler. We have had so much fun creating underwater scenes in our Block and Lego areas and have even made sea creatures using natural objects in the outside area.

  Year three and four have really been enjoying learning all about the Stone age. This week they have explored how things have changed as we move into the Bronze age.  Check out our class page below!

• Some Exciting News for our EYFS class

  A BIG thank you to MJS construction ...

   

  During the Summer term of 2023, the EYFS team decided to create a new outdoor area.  This would be to develop PSE, physical development, communication, language and literacy, maths, understanding of the world and imaginative play.  The children already used a small stone area to develop these areas but a larger area became available which would develop and extend thinking.  A request was put on social media and we were very lucky that MJS construction agreed to support us.

   

  MJS agreed to donate a large amount of pebbles that would fill the new area, enabling a construction approach to be used.  During this time they also offered to support us further by donating more equipment.  Mr Robinson then set to work, creating the area and filling it with the donated stones.  A further delivery then came from MJS construction........ it was very exciting!  They had sourced some hard hats, safety googles, ear defenders, construction vests and........two sit on diggers!

   

  We are so lucky that our community comes to the rescue when funds are low and want to send our thanks to all concerned.

  

• Cross-curricular orienteering!

  Today we were visited by the team at Cross-curricular orienteering. They have worked with the children to introduce the new orienteering course that has been set up around our grounds.

  The children enjoyed the day very much!

   

  After school, the teachers were trained by the team on how to use this course across the curriculum.

• SCHOOL - OPEN

  Dear Parents and Carers,

  We have had confirmation that the water/burst water pipe problem has now been resolved. We can confirm school will be OPEN as normal tomorrow.

• SCHOOL CLOSURE

  Mon 07 Nov 2022

  Due to a burst water pipe in the area we currently have no running hot or cold water, or access to toilet facilities.

  Due to these unforeseen circumstances school will be forced to close immediately. Please can you arrange collection of your children from their normal classroom doors. If your child has permission to walk home alone you must email their class email address to confirm this before we can allow your child to leave.

  Key Stage one and early years have been fed, but Key Stage two may or may not have had their lunch.

  We will advise and update you of the situation as information becomes available later today.

  We will confirm by 7.30am at the latest whether the school will be open or closed tomorrow.

  We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

• Grafham Water Year 5 and 6 Residential

  Wednesday 12th October 2022

  The bus left Manea at 09.40am (12-10-2022) and we expect a journey time of about an hour. We will post more updates as we receive them.

  All is well at Grafham Water. The children have slept well ready for today's adventures on the reservoir, on bikes and climbing

  Good morning from Grafham Water

  The children have had a wonderful time, all aiming high and challenging themselves. They have another busy morning ahead, full of activities, before heading home later today. Please come to school for the normal pick up time and wait in the playground area. The teacher will dismiss your child through the middle blue doors in between Pear and Willow class. We will keep you updated if the arrival time changes.

   

  The bus has now left Grafham Water and we expect an on time arrival for the 3.15pm pick up
